Ashok L. Gowda, M.D., is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder & elbow, upper and lower extremity sports medicine, and hand surgery.
Dr. Gowda grew up in Michigan and graduated with a double major from the combined accelerated medical program at Thomas Jefferson
Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at New York Medical College. He then completed a Shoulder
& Elbow Fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital, continually ranked among the best in the nation for orthopaedics by U.S. News and World Report.
He subsequently was granted a scholarship for an AO Fellowship to complete additional training in hand surgery at the highly respected R Adams Cowley Shock
Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
While in fellowship Dr. Gowda assisted in caring for the Detroit Lions, Oakland University Athletics including a Division
I basketball and soccer team, and local high school football teams.
